Brentwood Grading Competition - 2009

31st May 2009

Due to GCSE’s, other exams and the half-term holidays, Cangaroos attendance at the final competition of the season, the Regional Trampoline Grading held at Brentwood School Sports Centre in Brentwood on 31st May 2009 was greatly reduced. However, our 5 entries all performed marvellously and we came home with another set of excellent results.

In the U13 girls grade G competition, Trinity Kelly, bouncing against girls much older and from a field of 30 entries managed an excellent 8th place and just failed to achieve the qualifying mark of 45.0 with a total score of 44.7

In the U15 boys grade G competition, Dom Sutton in just his 2nd competition delivered 2 controlled routines and achieved an excellent 3rd place with a score of 43.4

In the U15 girls grade F competition we had high hopes for Naomi Waldock who had been training really well in the weeks up to the competition. Naomi’s form held up and she produced 2 excellent routines to take 1st place with a score of 47.0 in a very difficult group. Unfortunately, Naomi was unsuccessful in qualifying for the E grade this time, but we are all very satisfied with the 1st place.

In the O15 ladies grade E competition, Shona Taunton, competing for the last time for Cangaroos, at least for a while, as she leaves us to attend University performed two excellent routines, that resulted in another 3rd place finish with a total score of 71.7

In the U15 girls grade D competition, Katy-Beth McKenna had a mixed competition, 2 satisfactory routines saw her achieve the final in 8th place, but an excellent final routine brought her up to 4th, just outside of the medals and a total score of 70.7

So 3 medals a 4th and 8th from just 5 entries can be seen as another superb result for the club.

The club is continuing training over the summer and we look forward to our 1st competition of the season in September, with our own Cangaroos Open, followed quickly by the Brentwood Open and the Regional Grading Competition, which we have been asked to host in October. If you would like to come along and see a competition, some of the best in the region will be competing at the Cangaroos Open in September at Sawston Sports Centre.
