Yet another new coach:
Congratulations to Sophie Housden who passed her level 1 coaching award
on Sunday 1st June.
New Coach:
CONGRATULATIONS to Francoise Lucas who succesfully passed her
level 2 coaching award in April 2008. Francoise is now
coaching at the Sawston sessions.
Carnival
In the summer, the club will be taking part in the Shelford
Feast on 13th July Please come along to watch and support the club.
If you have been asked to be in the demo team, please make sure you are
available for practices and for the days of the events.
Sports Relief 2008:
During the week of 10th March all the club sessions bounced for Sports
Relief, culminating in a big bounce on Saturday 14th March at Sawston
Sports Centre. Altogether over 70 people took part , bouncing in red socks
and raising money for Sports Relief. The club has raised over £100
for the charity. You can see some pictures of Saturdays fun here
Sports Panel
Following the recent interview on the breakfast show on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire
(95.7 & 96 FM), Head Coach, Tony Fagelman and Katie-Beth McKenna were
invited to take part in the Sports Panel debate on Monday 25th February.
The show lasted for 1 hour and us and a pair from Grapham Water Sailing
Club were invited to discuss our sport and take part in a challenge quiz,
whcih we won by a crushing margin of 23 points to 19. Hopefully we have
been able to improve the knowledge of our sport and increase awareness
about the club.
New Coaches:
CONGRATULATIONS to Natasha Fagelman who succesfully passed her
level 2 coaching award in January 2008.
Fiona Hill and Shona Taunton, both succesfully passed their Level
2 coach award in November 2007. Both are now coaching for the club at
our Saturday sessions and Fiona is the coach at the new Cangaroos classes
at Chesterton
Sports Centre which started on 6th February.
Further Assistant Coach awards:
Sophie Housden is currently studying for her level 1 coach award
with the exam scheduled for June 2008. We wish her success.
CONGRATULATIONS to Cameron Fullerton who passed his level 1 coach award
in December 2007.
CONGRATULATIONS to Joe Chandler, Imogen Pickup, Fiona Hill and Shona Tuanton
who all attended the Assistant coaching course held at Sawston Sports
Centre on September 9th and 16th. All four succesfully passed the award.
Additionally, Michael Keelin took his exam and was succesful.

Tony Fagelman, Head Coach was interviewed on the Breakfast show on August
16th about the Cangaroos.
Assistant Coach award:
CONGRATULATIONS to Francoise Odette Lucas, Max Fagelman, Imogen Howard,
Hannah Keen, Liam Kirwan and Michael Keelin who all attended the Assistant
coaching course held at Sawston Sports Centre on August 1st & 2nd.
Francoise, Max, Imogen, Hannah and Liam all passed the award succesfully.
Due to prior holiday committments Michael was unable to take his exam
and will be doing so in September.
