What are the club fees and how much does it cost? The basic rate is £5 per session which must be paid in advance for the full term . All fees are pro-rata, by this we mean that if you join part way through a term, you only pay for the sessions that are left. Most terms are 12 weeks which means the cost for the a whole term of one session is £60. A discount is available for multiple sessions - see below.
What is the membership fee about and how much does it cost?
- The membership fee covers one member from 1st October 2012 through 30th September 2013, which is how British Gymnastics (BG) membership years run. It must be paid in advance as the club insurance is through BG which requires all our members to be BG registered. Membership of ECGA is also included.
- For new members we need all the details on the membership form – either on the form itself or just in an email is fine.
- Note that the membership fee is separate to session fees which are payable in advance each term for each session.
The cost for membership is as follows
- Club Bronze - does not compete or competes in grades I - E: £33.50
- Club Silver - Competes in grades D - A or is an L1 coach: £55
- Existing BG Member: £15
Who do I pay and give forms to?Payment via bank transfer is the easiest method – details are below. If you pay by cheque make sure the bouncers name is on the back. If cash then a sealed named envelope. Either direct to the treasurer (Neil) or to a committee member or to a coach if no-one else is about. Cheques made payable to “Cambridge Cangaroos”.
Preferred payment method is via bank transfer to :-
Cambridge Cangaroos TC. Barclays. Sort Code 20-74-05. Account No 10087254
What do I need to wear?Socks must be worn, Long hair must be tied up
- All jewellery removed
- Suitable clothing is "football" shorts, tracksuit bottoms, t-shirts etc. or club leotards
- Stuff that isn't suitable is jeans and anything with buttons or dangly zips
- Anything that gets caught in a trampoline bed is going to get ripped and if the trampoline bed is damaged these cost £800-£1,000 to replace
How does the multiple session discount work? The first session by any family member is charged at the full rate. The second session, for the same term, by any family member, is then reduced by £1 a session. Any further sessions are then reduced by £2 per session. With the current rate of £5 per session, this means the second session is £4 and any more are £3 a session.
I would like to come for a taster what do I need to do?At Cangaroos your first taster session is free. If you would like to come for a taster session please see our
training page for our session days and times to see which session(s) you prefer. Then drop us an email at
info@cangaroos.org to let us know when you would like to come. Please email us before so we can ensure the session is not over crowded.
How do I secure a place on a session for myself / sibling?Once you are sure you want to attend a session for a whole term drop us an email at
info@cangaroos.org with the session you want. Providing there is space the space will be assigned to you so please fill out our booking form (link is on the right above the twitter feed) and bring it with you. You will also need to bring payment for your BG Membership if you do not already have it - details of this are on the booking form.
What are the ability levels of your sessions? All sessions (apart from the squad sessions) are for all abilities. We may group performes of certain ability together inside a session to aid their learning experience.
I would like to get more involved in the club - how can I help out the committee? We are always keen for extra pairs of hands to help out with the club. The committee meets monthly to organise events, training, competitions etc. If you would like to apply for a currently held position please drop us an email at info@cangaroos.org and we will put your forward for a vote at the next AGM (usually around June).
If you believe you would like to help in an area we have not thought of then please email us - we always appreciate extra help!
I would like to get involved with coaching - how do I do this?To coach at one of our sessions you must have atleast attended our Session Helper class or hold a current BG Coach Level. You will also need a current CRB and British Gymnastics Membership. We are always happy to accept new coaches or train new ones. Apart from our session helper courses all other courses are organised by British Gymnastics so please drop us an email if you are intrested to
info@cangaroos.org.
Can I pay adhoc if I can’t make every session? Not usually as it would prevent us filling that spot with a full-time member – it also adds to the admin workload (for the unpaid committee volunteers). However, existing members already doing at least one full session can be considered for adhoc bouncing in sessions that have spaces. This is at the discretion of the treasurer and the coach for the adhoc session though and must be checked with them in advance.
If I join part-way through a term do I have to pay the full term fees? No, you will only pay for however many sessions are left in the term.
What are the holiday sessions?Holiday sessions are run across the summer holdiays in Augst and are pay as you go on the night. Places cannot be guaranteed and payment must be given in cash.
