Results from 2009

Cangaroos Club Competition 2009

Cangaroos Club Competition 2009

We ended the year with our club competition and annual awards at Sawston Sports Centre on Saturday 12th December. This was a closed competition, and we still managed 71 members competing in the individual competition and 12 pairs in the synchronised competition. Highlights of the day were many, a fantastic competition all-round, with a huge turn out from our Roos, a keenly fought contest in the Grade D event and the Club Champion staying in the family, but changing sisters.
Easton Grading 2009

Easton Grading 2009

Cambridge Cangaroos Trampoline Club attended the Regional Trampoline Competition on 11th October at Easton College. Originally, we had 12 entries for the day, but sickness and concerns over form meant that only 9 competed. But after a full day of events, Cangaroos emerged with two golds and 1 silver, plus three Personal Best’s.
Brentwood Open 2009

Brentwood Open 2009

27th September saw a large contingent of eager Cambridge Cangaroos trampolinists travel to Brentwood for the first competition of the new season. We had 19 entries but a few had to withdraw at the last minute, leaving us with 15 bouncers on the day. The fields in all categories were large, so congratulations to all our bouncers for their efforts, especially to those that were taking part in their first ever competition.
Pegasus Open 2009

Pegasus Open 2009

Although not a 'club' event, 9 competitors from the club attended the inaugural Pegasus Open in Ipswich. The competition was open to competitors in grades F, G & I and so was a perfect opportunity for our younger bouncers to gain some experience.
Easton Open 2009

Easton Open 2009

What started out as quite a good entry for the competition was reduced by the approaching GCSE exams, with 5 of our elite bouncers all pulling out due to examinations in the next day or so. We still took 11 competitors and what a fantastic day it turned out to be for virtually every member.
Harlow Grading 2009

Harlow Grading 2009

A reduced entry for this grading competition, due to injury, school trips and various other things that get in the way. So Cangaroos made our way to Harlow with just 6 competitors.
Wisbech Open 2009

Wisbech Open 2009

Cangaroos took a medium sized team of 18 to the first ever Wisbech Open on Sunday 15th February. This was a chance for our newest, youngest and oldest members to try competition and for some of our established performers to work on their new grades or just improve their routines for the rest of the season. Even the coaches competed, with Laura Able and Tony Fagelman both competing in the Elite competitions, with mixed results. One of the interesting aspects of this competition was that although Wisbech is a near neighbour, they compete in a different region, so we were up against unknown competition, except for our close rivals Comberton Tiggers. We still came away with 4 medals and 2 first team medals, and a host of 4th places, so not a bad day considering!
Hitchin Grading 2009

Hitchin Grading 2009

The 1st competition of the year brings double medal success for Cangaroos men and qualification at last for Max and Joe. The regional trampoline championships were held at Hitchin Boys School on Sunday 11th January. These championships include trampolinists from the whole of the Eastern region, from as far north and East as Lowestoft, down to the far south west of the region.
