Club Competitions and Awards 2010

What an amazing day, over 145 entries, with 117 actually competing on the day, plus 13 synchro pairs and 14 DMT entries. The friday night we set-up Sawston Sports hall in an unfamilar pattern for our usual Sawston bouncers. But it worked well, providing lots of room for spectators and the cake stall which did a roaring trade throughout the day.

Ipswich Grading 2010

Ipswich Grading 2010

Twelve members took part in the Regional Grading competition at Gainsborough Sports Centre in Ipswich. Our recent run of competition form was put under pressure from some quality performances, but our members were up to the task. It is important to be aware that at Grading competitions, that although gaining medals is reward for the hard work and effort of the performers, it is actually the opportunity to qualify up to the next grade that is the pinnacle of the days achievements. To qualify, competitors must not only reach a qualifying score, but in the highest level, D, they must also achieve the top 20% of the competitive pool.
Milton Keynes Open 2010

Milton Keynes Open 2010

On the 30th May, the club made the journey in blistering heat to Milton Keynes. We had 15 members competing, many for the very first time.
Easton Open 2010

Easton Open 2010

At the Easton Open, hosted by Dragons Trampoline Club, Cangaroos saws a large entry of 19 members, mostly in the beginner grades. But everyone produced their best ever routines and scores. Most grades were mixed gender competitions, except for the higher F grade, which was spilt into male and female. This made for some extremely large groups, so to gain the positions our members did was remarkable, especially given their lack of competition experience.
Saffron Walden Grading 2010

Saffron Walden Grading 2010

On Sunday 21st March Cambridge Cangaroos Trampoline Club played host to the regions top trampolinists as they gathered at Saffron Walden County High for the 2nd Regional Grading competition. This was the first time the event had been held at this venue and it was considered an out and out success. Cangaroos had begun setting up the event on Friday evening, with a group of eager volunteers shifting trampolines and mats to the centre with the fantastic support of Welch’s Transport who provided a truck and driver for both the taking and returning of the equipment on the Sunday evening. Saturday training for the club was held at SWCH and following training, everyone mucked in to set-up the hall. Sunday morning bright and early, Cangaroos competitors, parents, officials and volunteers turned up, quickly followed by over 200 competitors, officials and supporters. The place was full to bursting as the regions talented trampolinists competed for a chance to qualify to the next level, with some hoping to qualify to the national scene.
