A squad of 20 competitors from Cambridge Cangaroos travelled to the Brentwood Open trampoline competition on Sunday 26th September and brought home an impressive haul of 11 individual medals, including 7 golds, as well as a team medal.

The Brentwood Open is an annual competition that this year attracted nearly 300 competitors from 22 trampoline clubs over the Eastern region and further afield. In 2009, Cangaroos competed with 15 bouncers, many in their first competition, and brought back two bronze and one silver medals.

The results this year show the progress that the club and the individual bouncers have made over the last year. Of particular note, Naomi Waldock achieved a score that would be competitive at a National competition level and Taranne Kendon took first place in her first ever competition.

Tony Fagelman, Head Coach for the club commented: ‘Cangaroos should be proud of today’s achievements, we have seen a consistent improvement from everybody and it is demonstrated in the best ever results from a competition, well done to all competitors and coaches’

The club would like to thank its parents, coaches and officials who took the time to help out at the competition. Without the help and support of these individuals, our members couldn’t train or compete.

The next competition that Cangaroos will participate in is the Eastern Regional Grading competition at Easton College, Norwich on 17th Oct 2010.
