Cangaroos continue to shine on the National Circuit. 5 Cambridge Cangaroos competitors travelled to Hull???s Gymtech arena on 26th & 27th March to take part in the Yorkshire Gala, the third national competition of the trampolining and Double Mini Tramp season. In the trampoline competitions, Naomi Waldock, showed her potential by qualifying easily for the National Finals in the National C Grade, Ladies under 17 competition and was just 0.1 of making the competition finals and qualifying for Fig B, coming 9th. This was a massive improvement on her two previous results this year and shows her continuing improvement. In the Junior ladies synchro competition, Naomi and her partner Emily ? (from Easter Region club Levitation) came 13th, a further improvement in their results this year. In the Fig B, Ladies over 19???s Emily Armitage, struggling with injury managed 13th place for the third time this season, just failing to reach the National Finals by 0.1. In the Double Mini-Tramp (DMT) competition, the club had 3 entries in the Over 15 Men???s National C grade. Luis Pires, who had qualified for the National Finals in his first competition in Gillingham went even better this time by qualifying for the Fig B grade by placing first in the preliminary rounds. Unfortunately, he was unable to maintain his success and went from 1st to 8th in the final. Max Fagelman and Joe Chandler in their first competition at this level had mixed fortune. Joe had a excellent first pass and was in lying in 3rd position. But a fail in the 2nd pass meant he ended up in 19th position overall. Max struggled to land either of his passes and ended up in 16th position. The good thing though is that they have now competed at this level and will retain National performance competition through this season and into next season. Cangaroos Head coach, Tony Fagelman had this to say about the results: ???I am so proud of our competitors, all have exceeded their expectations today and the results from Luis and Naomi are just stunning. Hopefully, Emma, Joe and Max will build on their results and have better luck next time??? Cangaroos national competitors will next be competing at the Welsh Gala on April 18th & 19th at Cardiff. The club will be competing at regional level on May 15th at the Grading being held at Brentwood.
