For the third year, Cambridge Cangaroos played host to the Eastern Regional Grading competition at our centre at Saffron Walden County High School. With over 350 entries from more than 20 Trampoline clubs throughout the whole of the East of England, this was the biggest regional trampoline competition for over 10 years.
As hosts, Cangaroos had been hoping for a great turn-out from our members, and they didn't disappoint. Cangaroos fielded 46 entries and came away with 13 individual medals, 5 team medals and 4 grade qualifications.
All our members performed excellently, but our stand-out performances were our 4 qualifiers. Byron Bowdown-Pickstock won gold and took first place in the over 15 Boys regional G grade with a total score of 45.6. Laurence Halfpenny also won gold and took 1st place in the under 15 Boys regional G with a score of 45.3. Daniella Stevenson won silver and took 2nd place in the under 15 Girls regional G grade with a score of 46.3 and Emily Armitage took 7th place and qualified to regional F with a score of 45.0.
Our other medal winners included Daniel Long who won gold in the under 15 boys Club H with a score of 44.1. Our silver medal winners were Max Fagelman in the over 19 Mens Regional D with a score of 47.3, William Redfearn in the Under 15 boys club H with a score of 42.9, and Frances Pickup in the under 17 Girls Regional E grade with a score of 48.4.
Our bronze medal winners were, Imogen Pickup in the over 17 Ladies Regional E grade, who matched her sisters score of 48.4. Rebecca Kiff in the over 15 girls club H grade, with a score of 42.7. Gaelle Daniel in the under 15 girls club H with a score of 38.1, Yasmin Snook in the under 11 girls club H with a score of 44.0, Zach Goggin in the under 13 Boys Regional F grade with a score of 44.6 and George Graves in the under 11 Boys club H with a score of 41.0
Our gold team winners were in the Under 11 girls Club H, where we also took the silver medal. Our Gold Team members were Katie Todman, Katie Golding, Georgina Wrigley, Aaliyah Kinnley, With Meghan Searle, Scarlett East, Ella Schumann and Yasmin Snook filling the Silver team.
We also took silver in the Under 13 Girls Club H, with our team of Megan Webb, Rosie Males, Mila Feldman, Jessica Livesey. We took the team silver in the under 17 Girls Regional G, with our team of Claire Kilmartin, Katie Evans and Joscelin Smith. And our final team silver came in the Under 9 Girls Club H, with our team of Anya Snook, Rhyannon Kinnley and Martha Graves.
As will all these events, the support of the club officials, parents and friends in vital to ensure a smooth running of the competition, so as always we want to thank them for all their efforts.
