2013 saw two Cambridge Cangaroos members travel to Cannock to take part in the National Schools trampoline final.
Matt Burson competing for the Perse School repeated his feat of last year, battling through two previous rounds to achieve qualification in the Under 13 Boys Elite grade. This year Matt was joined by Sydney Kelly, competing for Katherine Semar Junior School who also competed in the regional and zonal competitions to achieve qualification to the National finals in the girls Under 11 Novice grade.
Matt was up first, hoping to improve on his 4th place finish last year. After Round 1 he was well placed in 3rd, but some extremely good performances from his challengers and a lower difficulty score from Matt saw him end up in a very creditable 6th place.
Sydney competed well in a very challenging group and although was disappointed to come 9th, she had performed two good routines and demonstrated that she would be challenging next year in the Elite group.
