On January 20th a contingent from the trampoline clubs in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Herts and surrounding areas battled their way through the inhospitable snowy conditions to compete at the Mid UK Zonal Schools competition in Monmouth, hosted by Welsh Gymnastics.
Children from the Cambridge schools had a fantastic set of results with 5 of our 7 competitors achieving qualification to the National Finals and one competitor taking the reserve place. Of our 7 entries, we came away with 4 first place finishes, a 3rd, a 4th and a 7th place.
In the novice competition, Sydney Kelly from Saffron Walden took first place in the Under 11 girls division. In the elite competition, Matthew Burson from the Perse School took 1st place in the Boys under 13 division.
Taranne Kendon also from the Perse School narrowly missed out on qualification in the girls under 15 division, achieving 4th place and securing 1st reserve.
Our qualifying competitors will be making their way to the Finals held on 23rd March and we wish them the very best of luck.
