English Championships

English Championships

Five of our gymnasts made their way to Sheffield on 13th October to prepare and compete in the 1st English Championships, being held at the English Institute of Sport. This competition boasted some of the very best trampoline gymnasts in Europe in their age-groups competing for the right to be crowned English Champion in Trampoline, DMT and Tumbling.

Regional Team Finals

Two Cangaroos were part of the 81 strong East Region Team that made its way to Birmingham to compete at the Barclaycard Arena on the weekend of 17th and 18th June. Team East were the defending champions in Trampoline and were hoping to achieve the double, which no Region had previously ever managed.

Cambridge Cangaroo’s took 4 gymnasts to Nottingham on 30th April to compete in the first National Development Pathway Qualifying event, where they competed against gymnasts for podium positions and more importantly qualifying scores to gain a place in the NDP finals in July.

The annual university Cambridge Open saw Ali and Trinity compete along side university students and some familiar faces. The competition is a friendly but great practice for League and NDP competitions for older trampolinists.

22 gymnasts from Cambridge Cangaroos took part in the second NDP trampoline and DMT competition on 15th January at Cambridge University. This was the biggest NDP event in the Regions since the National Development Programme was started 4 years ago, with over 400 gymnasts competing from all over the East Region in Trampoline and Double Mini-Tramp.
