James Able was representing Cambridge Cangaroos in the SES 2 British Championships qualifiers on 2nd June in Sheffield. This was James's 2nd British event, following an error in the 1st event, the pressure was on for him to perform to his best in order to qualify for both the English National Championships and also the British Championships. This event was only James’s second competition at the highest age group level, competing in the Men’s 17-21 age group at the FIG Performance level.
After two successful routines, including equalling his highest difficulty score ever, James’s finished the day in 9th place. Although he achieved the qualifying score in the 1st round, unfortunately, he narrowly missed it in the 2nd round. This means we have an anxious wait to find out whether he has achieved the 2nd qualifying requirements and has reached both English and British Finals.
