Cangaroos returned to Telford for the second week in a row for the 2nd Trampoline, DMT and Tumbling English Qualifier. Following excellent results, we were all hoping for a strong showing from our gymnasts at the event. With three gymnasts already secured in their qualification for English Finals, it was up to our remaining gymnasts to secure their place in the Finals, due to take place in July.

Head Coach Tony was still on the side-lines recovering from surgery, so Nicky stepped in to support our gymnasts both as lead coach on Saturday and Judge on Sunday.

Once again, the flights coincided, and Nicky had to run across two panels to support our three gymnasts. Freya Carter was competing in the Women's 9-10 Silver event and she successfully completed both routines in an extremely large and competitive group. Freya scored 32.030 for his 1st exercise and followed that up with an improved 2nd exercise scoring 38.010 and a total score of 70.040. This place her in 27th place out of 41 gymnasts.

Next up was Lily Carter, competing in the Women's 13-14 Silver event. Lily saw a significant improvement in her scores and ranking, registering a score of 36.770 for her 1st exercise and 42.290 for her 2nd exercise, giving a total score of 79.060 and a strong 21st place out of 46 gymnasts.

Last to compete on Saturday was Iza Moutrie, taking to the national stage for the 1st time as an individual. Iza was competing in the Women's silver disability Cat 2 9-14 group. Iza registered a good 1st exercise with a score of 21.800 but improved it significantly in the 2nd exercise scoring 23.500 giving a total score of 45.300. This score guaranteed 3rd place and a Bronze medal. What a fantastic debut for their national performance.

Sunday came around, and we watched with anticipation as Lilia competed in the Women's 15-16 Gold event. Lilia was looking to improve on her ranking from EQ1, and she certainly did that. A good quality 1st exercise, with just a slight wobble on one move gave a score of 38.720. An improvement in her 2nd exercise saw an increased score of 44.80 to give a total score of 83.200 and secured 14th place out of 28 gymnasts.

The Club is delighted to announce that the following gymnasts successfully qualified to the English Championship Finals:

We are also pleased to announce that Sara Shaw and Chloe Shaw will be competing in the Finals as guests both as individuals and as a synchro team.

As always, the Club would like to say a huge thank you to our Coaches and officials who give up their time to support the Club at these events. So thank you to Jane Macrae, our Judge on Saturday and to Nicky Andersen our lead coach on Saturday and judge on Sunday.

We look forward to the East Regional Finals in Cambridge this weekend with 20 gymnasts representing the Club at all levels.
