The 2013 comic relief took place in Sawston and was a massive success. We wish to thank all of the members, coaches and parents who turned up. Your constant support is always appreciated and we look forward to an even more prosperous year than 2012!
The evening started up with a massive set up operation that included trampolines, food and drink stalls, raffle, space hoppers and even basketball. By the time Ali strolled in at 6:40 all was ready to go! As volunteers (including the returning Becky Midgely) manned all the stations the laughter and the kids brightened the atmosphere sports hall at SvC.
Special credit must go to Simon 'Michael Jordan' Burson for his stunning display of shooting hoops from the trampoline. Brigadier Liz Kendon was once again on hand to control food and drink and her military discipline ensured all was in order. The cakes on sale were, to say the least, epic! Charlie Love was on the scene to provide quality assurance for the baked produce.
Grace and Tony marshalled the 'record breaking' trampoline encouraging performers to complete a set number of moves within a minute. At the last minute Matthew Burson's barani record was snatched by Ali - we are all sure Matt will take it back soon though.
When Grace took a break from marshalling she could be seen attempting to use a space hopper - and lets just say that it is a good job she chose trampoline over space hopper racing, but it is the taking part that counts!
All in all the evening was a great success and once again thanks to all of you who make these events possible. The club could will never cease to appreciate the tireless efforts of many of our volunteers and we hope to keep this momentum going to make our year even bigger than the last!
