Saffron Walden Carnival

Saffron Walden Carnival 2014

Date: Saturday 5th July 2014 at Saffron Walden.

The Saffron Walden carnival is an annual event where floats proceed around Saffron Walden to raise money for the local community and charities. Thanks to the massive efforts of Kim, Franky, Stuart, Mick, Scott, Debbie, Emma and our young leaders the Cangaroos had an exciting Aussie themed float touring the streets.

Our mighty team started setting up in the early morning bring some Aussie spirit to the flat bed including inflatable kangaroos, flags and gazebo (provided by Emma), some questionable Aussie music, crazy hats and for Ali; a nice seat for him to relax on after being brought down by Jos after coaching at CRC.

As the float got ready to set off all Cangaroos took their place including an impressive leap from Kim to enjoy the procession from the tractor cab. As Mick pulled away our team sprang to life collecting change from the residents of Saffron and depositing an array of sweets on them to bring some joy the crowds of spectating children.

All our young leaders were sensational as the buckets began to fill and the cheers of laughter echoed around the narrow streets of the town. We can only hope that Taranne has now escaped the ever-energetic Harry for a few hours ready for the demo tomorrow on Parkers Piece. Ali took some great photos from the back of the truck and despite Jos' best attempts to avoid the camera he eventually got one of her - sorry :)

A massive thanks must go out to Franky, Stuart, Mick, Jos, Kim, Scott, Debbie, Emma and our army of supporters as they continue to make our club so very proud of everything we achieve.
