Cangaroos played host to the 2nd Cambridgeshire County Squad on Sunday 19th February at Sawston Sports Centre.
The County Squad is divided into two sections and in the morning our Development squad took their turn. The Development squad is aimed at our gymnasts competing at NDP1-4 and who are looking to progress in the sport to bigger and better things. Cangaroos were delighted to send 9 of our members to take part and they all have a brilliant time.
In the afternoon, the Performance squad attended, this is for gymnasts competing at NDP 5 and above and we were delighted that two current British Squad members were able to join the training along with our aspiring Elite gymnasts. Cangaroos were able to send 8 gymnasts to this Squad.
At both squad sessions, Cangaroos Head Coach, Tony Fagelman, led the activities, based on agreed actions between the Head Coaches of the Cambridgeshire clubs.
All attendees reported enjoyment and satisfaction with the training and we look forward to the next County Squad that will be hosted by Cambourne Comets in the spring.
The Club would like to thank all our coaches for giving up the time to attend and be a part of this fledgling set-up. We would also like to thank our gymnasts for their commitment on the day and for all the hard work they put in.
