Cambridge Cangaroos was so sorry to hear of the passing of our dear friend Jerry Broda. Jerry has long been a part of the Trampoline community and has strong connections with our Club. His son, Jordan, trained and competed for Cangaroos for a number of years, achieving national qualification and bouncing at the highest levels. During this time, Jerry gave up his time to coach at the Club and support many of our own gymnasts on their paths. He was a friend and mentor to all those that he worked with and he moved from coaching through to judging, succeeding at national level as a Judge.
He will always be remembered for his passionate support of the sport and of the Clubs he was involved with, including his own Fenland Flyers, that he ran alongside his wife Adelle and son. The sport is reduced by his passing, but tempered with that is the knowledge that he brought skills, passion and support to all those he coached and to the judging panels he operated on.
