Welcome to Cambridge Cangaroos

Cambridge Cangaroos was formed in June 2004, it now has over 150 active members and 10 coaches, plus a large number of enthusiastic assistant coaches. We are based at Sawston Sports Centre and operate satellite centres at Cottenham Sports Centre and at Coleridge College.

The Summer Term began 20th April. Term lasts 13 weeks ending on July 25th. A Summer holiday term is planned, but locations for training have yet to be agreed.

A full list of all our training dates, answers to frequently asked questions, plus booking forms for all our sessions at all of our centres is available here. You can also go to Help for more information, frequently asked questions and a breakdown of availability at all our centres.

The club was formed to encourage recreational trampolinists to take up competitive opportunities and to provide disability trampolining to all those who wish to take part in this exhilarating sport.

The club is coached by Tony Fagelman, former GB youth international performer and Senior Coach, Laura Able, Senior Coach plus club coaches; Nicola Butcher, Emily Perks and Sarah Allen and coaches Shona Taunton, Fiona Hill, Natasha Fagelman, Francoise Lucas and Maz Pope plus assistant coaches; Max, Hanna, Imogen H, Michael, Joe, Jo, Imogen P, Cameron, Sophie and Michelle.

Congratulations to Sarah Allen who recently passed her Level 3 coaching award.

Congratulations to Michelle Bones who successfully passed her Level 1 coaching award on 19th April 2009. Michelle will be assisting Fiona at the Cottenham sessions this term.

Gym Mark
We are DELIGHTED to announce that the club has succesfully achieved Gym Mark. There will be a presentation ceremony shortly. Various new documents and policies have been published on the Members page. We encourage all our members to read these policies and documents. In time we will add a specific Gym Mark page, where members and visitors can see all of our Gym Mark documentation. Please note that copies of all the polices and documents are carried by the coaches or committee at each session, if you wish to read them.

Availability
Due to the purchase of new equipment, Cangaroos is delighted to announce added availability at virtually all our sessions. So if you ever fancied having a go on a trampoline, or want to improve or move from recreational bouncing to competitive training and competing, then check out the Help page to see if we have sessions near you at times that suit.

Comic Relief
The club supported Comic Relief during the week of March 9th. Members bought red-noses and had a fun time bouncing in them. All funds from the sale will go to Comic Relief. You can see the results of our bouncing funny for money here.

Cambridge SSCO

The club is delighted to announce that we have formed a partnership with Cambridge SSCO. This means that our close ties with our current schools will be maintained and expanded to include all primary schools connected to those secondary schools. In addition, we are looking at how we can further expand to bring trampolining to the remaining 5 schools in the partnership and their feeder primary schools.

Club Competition & Presentation Ceremony
The club held its first closed competition on 6th December followed by its first ever Presentation ceremony. For full details of both events please click here

URGENT - Parents needed to volunteer to help out in official capacities for 1/2 days at competitions - talk to Tony or a member of the committee if you are willing... The club will subsidise any judging courses and we will teach you how to record or marshal.

"ROOS" - This has now been operating very succesfully for a year and a half, it certainly doesn't seem that long since we started the sessions especally for our under 8 bouncers. We have added a new Roos session, starting after summer half-term, 09.10-10.10 which has allowed us to cater for those people on the Roos waiting list. We have 5 Roos places available across the 3 sessions. Roos is proving extremely popular, so please arrange a trial quickly to be able to ensure your place. There are three Roos sessions, running 9.10am - 10.10.10, 10.15am - 11.15am and 11.30am-12.30pm on Saturday mornings, with their own dedicated coaches. If you would like your child to be considered for the Roos, please contact info at cangaroos.org. More information about the sessions and a full report on the Roos activities in 2007 is available at Roos
