Date: Thursday 22nd October 2026 at Sawston - Dales Manor
It's hard to believe that it's already been three months since we moved into our new home in Sawston!
What an incredible few months it has been. From the excitement (and challenges!) of moving into a new facility to seeing our gymnasts back doing what they love, we have so much to celebrate.
Our new centre has already come such a long way, and we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.
We want to take this opportunity to say an enormous THANK YOU to everyone who has helped make our move possible.
To our fantastic team of coaches, committee members and incredible parents who have given up their time to help transform our new centre - we simply couldn't have done it without you.
The hours of hard work, determination and sheer effort that have gone into getting the centre to where it is today have been nothing short of heroic. Without your support, we would never have been able to get up and running as quickly as we did.
There is still more to do, but looking at how far we have come in just three months is something we should all be incredibly proud of.
Our move has brought some exciting changes to the way we run the club, and we're already seeing the benefits!
We have reorganised our recreational programme into age-based groups, and one of the most noticable things to come out of this change has been seeing so many new friendships blossom across our sessions.
It's been a real pleasure to watch children build friendships, encourage one another and enjoy their time together. Creating a positive, supportive environment has always been at the heart of Cangaroos, and it's wonderful to see this developing further.
We have increased the number of gymnasts taking part in our squad programme and continue to welcome new members.
It's fantastic to see so many young people showing the enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to develop their skills and take their trampolining further.
Since moving to Sawston, we have welcomed over 20 new families through our doors to experience our expanded home education programme.
It's been wonderful to introduce so many new children to trampolining and see them developing their confidence, skills and friendships. We are proud to be able to provide classes for the home ed community.
We've also welcomed new adult participants to the centre through our daytime and evening sessions.
Our adult sessions run at:
Whether you've done trampolining before or fancy trying something completely new, our adult sessions offer a fun, friendly way to get active.
If you've been watching your children bounce and think you'd quite like to have a go yourself, now is your chance!
For all of our new members, please ensure that gymnasts have British Gymnastics membership in place to provide the appropriate insurance cover for their activities at the club.
For most gymnasts, Community membership is sufficient. However, if your gymnast intends to compete at regional competitions, please select or upgrade to Competitive membership.
Please check that your gymnast's membership is current. Thank you for helping us ensure everyone is appropriately insured!
Although we've made enormous progress, there are still a few jobs left on our list! We have submitted two applications for funding grants to help us complete some of the outstanding building work at the centre.
One of our priorities is installing three viewing windows in the upstairs viewing area, allowing parents and spectators to watch sessions in action.
We know how important it is for families to be able to see their children enjoying their sessions, and we're hopeful that securing additional funding will help us make these improvements.
We'll keep you updated on our progress!
We have some fantastic national competition achievements to celebrate following the British Championships earlier this month.
A huge congratulations to Sienna, who had an incredible weekend at the British Championships!
Sienna competed in the 11-12 National Age Group Finals, securing a fantastic bronze medal, before going one better the following day and winning silver in the Youth competition, a combination of 9-10 and 11-12 age groups!
Two national medals in one weekend is an outstanding achievement and a reflection of the hard work and dedication Sienna puts into her training.
We are incredibly proud of her and can't wait to see what she achieves next!
We are equally delighted to celebrate the success of Nicola, one of our senior qualified coaches, who competed in the Category 2 15+ disability competition at the British Championships.
Nicola's journey back to competition has been anything but straightforward. Following a fractured tibia at the end of 2024, she has faced a long road of recovery and rehabilitation to return to the sport.
After performing two successful routines, Nicola was crowned British Champion, taking home the gold medal! Her determination, resilience and ability to overcome adversity make this achievement even more special.
We are so proud of Nicola, not only for her fantastic result but for the perseverance she has shown to get back to doing what she loves.
A huge congratulations to both Sienna and Nicola. You've done Cangaroos proud!
If the above success isn't enough, Sienna has also been selected for the England Foundation Squad for Double Mini Trampoline (DMT)!
This is a fantastic achievement, particularly considering that Sienna only took up the discipline earlier this year!
As part of the England Foundation Squad, Sienna will have the opportunity to travel across the country to attend national squad training sessions, working alongside other talented gymnasts and experienced coaches to further develop her skills and reach her full potential.
She will also have the exciting opportunity to represent England at a number of competitions throughout the year, and has already been selected to compete at the David Ward Hunt Cup in Gillingham, which will mark her very first international competition!
What an incredible season Sienna has had! From her fantastic achievements at the British Championships and earning a place on the England Foundation Squad, her hard work, determination and natural talent continue to shine through. We couldn't be prouder of Sienna and can't wait to see where this exciting opportunity takes her. Congratulations, Sienna! 💙
Over the past two months we have welcomed clubs from across the East Region for two fantastic opportunities to learn, develop and train together during the Eastern development days.
These events are designed to support those currently competing at regional level who are looking to take the next step towards national level competition.
The sessions were led by Brian Camp, personal coach to Olympic trampolinists Bryony Page and Izzy Songhurst, who both represented Great Britain at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Bryony won gold!
Brian's wealth of knowledge, experience and passion for coaching shone through, as always. Members of our Development and Senior Squads thoroughly enjoyed learning from him and training alongside others from across the region.
We are incredibly grateful to be able to host events like these and proud that the Eastern Region recognises Cangaroos as a hub for such valuable development opportunities. It's another fantastic example of what our new home is allowing us to achieve, not just for our club, but for the wider trampolining community!
It's an exciting few weeks ahead for our competitive gymnasts, with two major events just around the corner!
24th-25th October 2026 This weekend, we head to Derby Arena for the National Trampoline League Finals! We are delighted to have 14 individual gymnasts qualified across Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) and Synchronised Trampoline disciplines.
Our competitors will take part in the qualifying rounds on Saturday, with those finishing in the top eight of their respective categories progressing through to Sunday's finals.
It's a fantastic achievement to have so many of our members representing Cangaroos at this level, and we're incredibly proud of everyone who has qualified. We wish the entire team, along with our accompanying coaches, officials and volunteers, a fabulous weekend of competition!
Good luck, Team Cangaroos! We can't wait to share your results!
Sunday 8th November 2026 Our first Regional Qualifier of the season is fast approaching, and we're excited to be heading to Harlow with a record number of entries from Cangaroos!
For some, this will be their very first experience of competing, whilst others will be looking to build on previous performances and work towards their goals for the season.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone out on the competition floor, supporting one another and representing the club.
Keep practising those routines, everyone!
Looking for something to keep the children active during half term? Our holiday sessions are available to book online!

Sessions can be booked through our holiday sessions page!
Important reminder: All regular recreational and squad sessions will run as normal throughout the half-term holidays.
It's been a busy few months for coach development at Cangaroos, and we're delighted to share some exciting updates.
Emma C and Jo C have both begun working towards their Level 2 Trampoline Coaching qualifications.
They have completed four full days of coach education, hosted at Cangaroos, delivered by our very own Tony!
We wish them both the very best as they continue developing their coaching skills and prepare for their assessments in the new year.
A huge well done to Heather, who attended her Level 3 Module 2 (M2) coaching course this October!
It's fantastic to see another of our dedicated coaches continuing to develop her knowledge and expertise. Well done, Heather, and thank you for your commitment to the club!
Back in September, six of our young members successfully completed their Trampoline Helper qualification.
A huge well done to:
James, Freya, Olivia, Leah, Cora and Annabel!
We're really excited to start getting them involved in sessions and see them putting their new skills into practice.
It's fantastic to see our younger members taking their first steps into coaching and giving something back to the club.
We are incredibly proud to announce that we have welcomed Isla as our new apprentice! Isla has been part of the Cangaroos family for many years, first as a gymnast and she has been a session helper, coaching sessions since she was able!
She will now be completing an apprenticeship through British Gymnastics, gaining qualifications in coaching and judging whilst working towards a Level 4 Sports Coach qualification.
This is an exciting step for both Isla and the club, and we're delighted to be able to support her development into a professional coaching career.
We can't wait to see her grow in her new role!
We are also really pleased to have Luis back coaching at the club. A valued member of the club for many, many years, Luis is coaching a few DMT sessions and trampoline for our squad members and we're delighted to have him around again!

Please make a note of these important dates.
As we continue to grow and develop in our new home, we want to make sure our members and families feel connected to everything happening at Cangaroos.
Moving forward, we hope to produce a newsletter similar to this every half term, sharing club news, competition achievements, coaching updates, upcoming events and all the little successes that make our club so special.
There's always so much happening behind the scenes, and we'd love to give everyone a greater insight into the opportunities, achievements and hard work taking place across the club.
As we reflect on our first three months in Sawston, it's clear that our club is about so much more than trampolining. It's about friendships, confidence, opportunities, determination and being part of a community where everyone can thrive.
From our youngest recreational members taking their first bounces to our national champions standing on the podium, every individual is an important part of what makes Cambridge Cangaroos special.
Thank you for your continued support, enthusiasm and patience as we settle into our new home.
We have so much to look forward to, and we're excited to see what the next few months bring!
